With reference to your Lordship's last and previous correspondence relating to the superannuation of Mr. Francis Williams Mitchell, Postmaster General of Hong Kong, I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to transmit to you herewith for your Lordship's information, a copy of a minute of this Board dated the 8th Inst., declaring Hong Kong to be an unhealthy place within the Superannuation Act, 1875.
I am further desired to state that my Lords authorize you to pay to Mr. Mitchell a retired allowance of £600 per annum.
